The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Shirva Deanery successfully organized an MC Training Programme at Holy Cross Church, Pamboor, on 2nd March 2025 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM. The event was aimed at equipping youth with the necessary skills and techniques to excel as Masters of Ceremony (MC).

The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by the MC training session, which was conducted by Dr. Grynal Dmello (Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte). As the resource person, he provided valuable insights into the art of anchoring, sharing practical tips and techniques to help young individuals build confidence and enhance their public speaking skills. He also motivated the participants to explore opportunities in the field of event hosting.

The programme was graced by the presence of several individuals on the dais, including:

•Josita Mendonca – President, ICYM Shirva Deanery
•Mrs. Florine Saldanha – Animator, ICYM Pamboor
•Mrs Jacqueline mendonca – Animator, ICYM Shirva

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with around 50 youth from various parishes, including members of ICYM and YCS. The programme was conducted in an interactive and engaging manner and concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing their gratitude for the opportunity to learn and grow in this field. The event successfully fulfilled its objective of empowering youth with essential communication skills and inspiring them to take up leadership roles in the community.

The sound system for the event was sponsored by Mr. Arwin Saldanha. The lunch was provided to all attendees, fostering fellowship among the participants which was sponsored by the ICYM Pamboor Unit.
