Sept 23, 2016: Pamboor Welfare Association Kuwait (PWAK) celebrated Monti Fest at the residence of Vinod Monterio, Salmiyah here on Friday September 23 evening. Celebration started at 7:30 pm with the introduction by compere Sanson Noronha. As per manglorean tradition jagery and water was served to all. President Johnson Martis welcomed all the parishioners.
The statue of Infant Mary was decorated with beautiful flowers. Sunil and Wilma Menezes conducted the Novena service. All the children were given a plate of flowers to offer Infant Mary singing, ‘Moriek Hogalsian’. After the novena service, all children celebrated the birthday of Infant Mary by cutting cake and served the cake and soft drink to everyone.
Prayer dance was presented by Venisha Saldhana. Samson Noronha introduced all the Son in laws of Pamboor and honored them with the bouquet of flowers. He also thanked the representative of Bellevision for publishing the news of PWAK.
Beautiful dances were performed by Viola Martis, Viola Monteiro, Dale & Daylon D'Silva which was appreciated by everyone.
Number of games including housie housie for children and adults were conducted by Sunil and Wilma during the event; prizes were distributed to all the winners in different games by Johnson Martis and Babitha Monteiro.
New office bearers were elected for the term of 2016-2018. The new Committee comprises Samson Noronha (President), Johnson Fernandes (Vice-President), Babita Monterio (General Secretary), Dony D’Souza (Treasurer), Management committee Members: Alban D’Souza, Ravi Alva, Joythi Castelino, Lavina Fernandes, Kishore Mendonca, Kishore D’Souza and Morvine Martis. Samson Norona thanked outgoing president and team for their dedicated contribution towards PWAK for the last 2 years term and welcomed newly elected president and team.
Before meal, Gurkar of the day Vinod and Gilbert invited everyone to have blessed traditional Mangalorean vegetarian dinner by offering a jar of water.
As one family all were served the traditional festal dinner prepared by M&M Caterers on banana leaves which was enjoyed and appreciated by all with the typical Mangalorean flavor.
Johnson Fernandes thanked all who helped to make this program successful and memorable.
The program was compered by Samson Noronha and appreciated by everyone.
The event concluded with singing, 'Laudate'.
