Maundy Thursday - also called Holy Thursday, is the beginning of the three day celebration of -the most important time in the year for Christians. This period is one big celebration, remembering the last supper, the crucifixion and the death of Jesus, and the Resurrection to new life. Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles.
The ceremony Started at 5pm.Rev.Fr. Paul Rego parish priest was the main celebrant of the Eucharistic mass accompanied by Deacon Patrick Dsouza. Deacon Patrick in his sermon described that today people try to give more difficulties to their neighbours instead of helping to overcome the difficulties.He also highlighted the three important things of this day i.e 1.Jesus Created the sacrament of Priesthood 2.The last Supper 3.Spread the message Neighbourhood.
After this Rev.Fr.Paul washed the feet of 12 representatives from vaado's.
On Maundy Thursday Jesus gave the bread to his desciples and spread the message of togetherness so Fr.Paul Blessed the bread and distributed them. One to each family and told them to share and eat and thus spread the message of togetherness.
After the mass the Eucharistic sacrament was taken to altar of Repose for adoration. The Adoration was lead by Fr.Paul and the ceremony ended at 7pm.
