Good Friday is a Christian religious holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Calvary. The holiday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and may coincide with the Jewish observance of Passover. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday.
The ceremony started at 4 pm with the way cross to commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. During the homily Fr. Paul explained about the forgiveness that Jesus gave to those who crucified him and he also told the parishioners to forgive those who hurt us in different ways and to reconcile. Special prayers were held for various intentions of the church. After the prayers Crucifix was uncovered at three stages following which Priest venerated the cross and thereafter the people also venerated the cross. The ceremony ended at 7 pm.
